January 18, 2024: DCSL’s Paint with Police program program fosters community among police officers and older adults in an artistic setting.
 
DCSL’s Paint with Police program is held monthly and is well-loved by older adults and police officers alike. In addition to fostering community, the program also offers an engaging opportunity to paint in an art studio setting.

ABC11: Durham Center for Senior Life host fundraiser gala

May 20th, 2023: ABC11 discusses the Durham Center for Senior Life’s Senior Spotlight Gala. The gala, held in May 2023, raised funds to support the center in enriching the lives of older adults by promoting healthy, active, and independent lifestyles. 

ABC11: How people at the Durham Center for Senior Life are aging better

March 9th, 2023: People are aging better with the help of the Durham Center for Senior Life due to engagement in our programs and social connectedness. 
 
Each day, DCSL serves 200+ older adults, who engage in our various programs and services, including exercise, support groups, social activities, and more. 

ABC11: Vice President Kamala Harris visits the Durham Center for Senior Life

Thursday, September 1, 2022: Vice President Kamala Harris made an appearance at the Durham Center for Senior Life, highlighting the administration’s commitment to lowering costs through the Inflation Reduction Act. She also spoke about lower health care costs for seniors.
 
Before her speech Harris toured the Durham Center for Senior Life and spoke with older adults about health care cost they have encountered.
